Last weekend saw two of Europe’s best players win on both tours to continue Europe’s domination of world golf. Luke Donald won on the PGA Tour at the Children’s Network Miracle Hospitals’ Classic at Disney Land to finish top of the PGA Tour money list. He is also Leading the Race to Dubai, Europe’s money list and would be the first player to win both money lists on both sides of the Atlantic. Last Sunday his dream seemed to be slipping away when he reaching the 10th tee but an amazing run of 6th consecutive birdies left him with a 2 shot winning margin and the chance to complete an astonishing money list double.
Whilst Donald was continuing on his remarkable season, over in Spain Sergio Garcia was recapturing the form that saw him become one of the top players in the world only a few years ago. After a couple of poor seasons, Garcia seems to be re-motivated and back in love with the game of Golf. He hosted last week’s Castello Masters at his home club and romped to an 11 shot victory. It was his first win for almost 3 years and will hopefully see the Spaniard return to his best especially with the Ryder Cup 2012 less than 12 Months away. If the Europeans continue their fine individual form then they will undoubtedly go into next years matches at the firm favourites.
