If the last 2 seasons are anything to go by then it won’t be too long before we see the name Hunter Mahan on a major title trophy. In the 2009 US Masters Tournament he finished tied for 10th followed by a 6th at the US Open and a further 6 top 10 finishes which set a personal best for earnings in 2009. In 2010 he won the Waste Management Phoenix Open followed by an 8th place in the Masters Tournament and then went on to card his 2nd career tour victory at the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational. Hunter Mahan has plenty of Under Armour to withstand a challenge on the final day.

The Masters tournament 2011 gets under-way at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday 7th April.

The Masters is the first of the four major golf tournaments held each year. Unlike other golf championships The Masters is held each year in the same location at the prestigious Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia USA.

The U.S Masters was the idea of Clifford Roberts and Bobby Jones and was first played in 1934 with Horton Smith the eventual inaugural Masters champion. Bobby Jones and legendary golf course designer Alister MacKenzie designed Augusta National which opened in 1933.

The Masters tournament is an official money event on the PGA Tour, the PGA European Tour and the Japan Golf Tour. The field of players is smaller than those of the other major championships because it is an invitational event, entry being controlled by the Augusta National Golf Club.
